Standard Distributors Limited was built on a foundation of integrity and honesty. Our original guiding principal remains true today: “No transaction is good unless it is good to all parties involved.” 

Established in Trinidad by Dr Anthony N Sabga on July 27, 1945, Standard has spent the last 79 years as the leading indigenous Trinidad and Tobago company for furniture, home appliances and electronics. Standard Distributors expanded to Barbados in September 1959 and began operations as a partnership with Da Costa Limited, a subsidiary of Barbados Shipping & Trading Company Limited (BS&T). In 1967, the ANSA Group acquired the fifty percent owned by BS&T and assumed full management of the company. Currently, Standard Distributors Limited has nine strategic locations in Trinidad and Tobago and one in Barbados. We continue to uphold our longstanding slogan ‘Never Beaten on Quality’.

Our team have placed our sole focus our customers; and for this reason, the words ‘Quality is not an Act … It’s a habit’ is emblazoned on a central wall at our Head Office reads. A simple yet powerful string of words, which we aspire to.

While quality is something which our products have become associated with over these years, for us it doesn’t stop there. Quality must translate into our service to our customers, our focus, our accessibility, our product knowledge, our after-sales service and our branding, and our delivery– quality remains at the epicentre of every single interaction and transaction.

This quality of service is what separates us from the rest and allows Standard to proudly claim the position of being Trinidad and Tobago’s largest and oldest locally-owned furniture, appliance, electronics and décor merchant.
